September is the start of Fall, but for some children it is the start of a brand new school year. BarkBox decided even our pups should join in on the scholastic festivities. They really went above and beyond with this month’s box! September’s box is absolute favorite so far! With the detailed toys for Khaleesi, the chews and treats this year were different from previous boxes and Khaleesi enjoyed trying them!
Just look at the wrapping! When I opened the box, I instantly knew the theme was going to be revolved around a school theme. Just look at these pups’ year book photos!
Just look at the goodies!! A jam packed box, I didn’t even know which to take out first. Of course, this BarkBox is for Khaleesi and she immediately went for the twisty chew stick. We’ll get to that in a bit.
Be Good Brown Bag Lunch ($12 for the small version): Usually I save the best for last, but I couldn’t with this toy. This is my favorite out of the toys we received from BarkBox! Isn’t this the cutest thing ever! Khaleesi loved this toy! She’s into anything that squeaks and crinkles and this 3-part toy gives her just that. The cookie and the sandwich are big enough for her to toss around but small enough to fit in her mouth. When it’s time for cleanup, just pop the sandwich and cookie back into the bag and you’re good to go!
Dog Ate My Homework ($8): Are you familiar with the phrase, “My dog ate my homework”? BarkBox put their spin on the famous phrase and gave us the evidence of that naughty homework eating pup! Built in with a squeaker and crinkle, Khaleesi enjoyed this as well. Did you read the homework on the pages? How adorable! A very sturdy and detailed toy that is sure to last a long time with my little Honor Student!
Split Apple Toy ($14): This isn’t my favorite out of the toys, but it still follows this adorable theme. The apple splits into half, which makes it easy for Khaleesi to carry around. She tossed it around for a bit and of course found the squeaker, but was more focused on the bagged lunch and homework sheets than the apple.
Crunchy Puffs ($6-3 ct. bag): This was a pleasant surprise in the box. These puffs are large enough to allow Khaleesi to gnaw at it for a long time. These crunchy air puffs are made from yak milk, cow milk, and lime juice. Khaleesi loves these puffs! She usually enjoys the meaty chews, but she really took a liking to these. I personally think it’s because it’s cheese and if you read Khaleesi’s August Favorites, you know she’s a fan of cheese! These crunchy puffs were a great choice for this month’s box!
Happy Howie’s Beef Burger Chew ($8): This is an actual all natural beef patty. It’s a different type of chew than Khaleesi has had. She usually gets pig ears, bully sticks, etc. It’s a great chew for a pup, especially if you’re eating hamburgers and don’t want to give your pup table food. Khaleesi hasn’t tried this yet, she’s still working on a few chews already. Knowing my little wolf, she’ll be enjoying this beef patty for hours!
Ham & Cheese Treats (Currently Sold Out): These little treats remind me of the Jetson’s! Think of your favorite sandwich in tiny little bites! Khaleesi loves these! I’m still trying to figure out if she actually chews or inhales these because she devours them in seconds! These are all natural and the perfect size for some fun training activities!
Chicken Soup for the Soul (Currently not sold on the site): Think of these as beef jerky for dogs. I usually give these to Khaleesi when I am eating dinner so she doesn’t beg for table food. She loves these, but it goes very quickly. I wish they were a bit bigger and meatier so she can take her time eating it.
Smart n’ Tasty Twizzies Dog Chew (Currently not sold on their site): This is probably one of the longest chews Khaleesi has had. She isn’t the type of pup to devour a chew in one sitting. She likes to dabble in different ones, can you say spoiled? This particular chew is lasting her quite a bit. She still prefers her pig ears and bully sticks but does chew on this one quite a lot.
Wow! That was a pretty full box and it was filled with really great quality items for my little wolf! Khaleesi has been enjoying this box quite a lot and I don’t blame her! BarkBox is a great way for Khaleesi to try new treats and chews that we may not find in stores. I can’t wait to see what they do for October!
