October is done and I have to say, I’m pretty glad it is! For me, October was filled with a lot of trials and tribulations, but thankfully I was able to overcome it all! A huge plus was I ended the month by getting back to gym with my trainer, Erica (Don’t tell her I missed her!)! I was able to try a lot of new products this month and have also enjoyed rediscovering products I have bought but had forgotten. Keep reading to find out what my favorites are for October!
Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Lock Moisture Balm: I have been wearing liquid lipsticks a lot for quite a few months and they can be really drying on the lips. I have tried Vaseline, Burt’s Bees, BabyLips by Maybelline and various others and none had seem to keep my lips moisturize throughout the day. I came across the Marc Jacobs’ Lip Balm during a trip to Sephora and decided to splurge and buy it. I am so glad I did! This lip balm keeps my lips soft and hydrated throughout the whole day. Lip liners and liquid lipsticks glide on effortless and don’t dry out my lips! A definite must, especially with the cold winter months coming up!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette: The decision to buy this palette was quite difficult because of all the others ones like it, from Huda Beauty’s palette to Kylie Jenner’s palette, warm cranberry colors were a huge hit in the last few months! I’m so glad that I went with the Renaissance Palette though! Buttery texture, intense pigmentation and blends like a dream? This palette is a triple threat! The best part is the palette has almost all matte shades (10 out of 14) and it is a warm toned palette! The colors are gorgeous and PERFECT for the fall season and are so versatile that you can use this palette year round! If you are on the fence, I would definitely go with the Renaissance Palette!
BECCA Blushed with Light Palette: Before I purchased this palette I had to read the reviews on various beauty blogs. Most of the reviews said that this palette is super pigmented and not buildable as it was supposed to be. I’m happy that I went against the reviews and bought it! This palette is great for traveling and allows me to have a variety of blushes, my favorite out of the three is SnapDragon! Two of the blushes in the palette are permanent (SongBird & SnapDragon) and the other is exclusive to this palette (Wisteria). Heavy handers beware though, the blogs were right about the pigmentation! A little goes a long way and paired with a light hand, this palette is sure to compliment any look!
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray: I have oily skin and living in Florida doesn’t help keep my makeup looking fresh. The All Nighter Spray is known throughout the Beauty World as one of the best setting sprays! And rightfully so! This spray has been my holy grail for years, but I took a break for a few months to try other sprays. I came back to Urban Decay in October because it is the only spray the consistently keeps my makeup from sliding all over the place due to oils and sweat (hey, Florida has no concept of wintery weather). I always use this during my makeup application as well as the end and my makeup stays flawless for most of the day. One of the best sprays out there and I definitely recommend it to everyone looking to stay flawless throughout the day.
PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset: As a gamer it is a must to have a good pair of quality headphones. I have been gaming online for over 10 years and have seen my fair share of various headphones. I needed a good pair that weren’t heavy because I suffer from pretty bad migraines. I have a love/hate relationship with these headphones. I just recently got my 9th pair of these headphones, yes 9th, let’s just say thank goodness for Best Buy’s GeekSquad! While they are great headphones for me, the craftsmanship is horrible!! I have taken extreme caution with all of the pairs I have and they ALL break the same way, cheap plastic hinges or a crack at the top. So why is this a favorite? These headphones allow me to game or watch Netflix/Hulu without having to worry about the weight of them causing a migraine episode. I’m sure there are better ones out there, but these (cheap plastic aside) are perfect for me!
Hulu: It has been so hard to watch tv shows as they come on, so I have had to resort to Hulu. Hulu has been great, despite the recent CW disappearance. I have been able to catch up on my shows when I have the time to do so. I was also able to tackle a new show, The Strain, and binge the first two seasons! Hulu has been a great distraction with current shows, old shows and even movies! I still have my Netflix account and have gone back and forth between the two but Hulu has allowed me to stay up-to-date with the shows currently out now. I know most cable/dish companies have DVR’s or the equivalent, but with Hulu I can watch with any of my devices, which allows me to take my shows on the go!
iKross 2-in1 Tablet and Cell Phone Holder: I travel a lot and I do most of that traveling via driving. I have a Garmin GPS currently in my car that has seen better days, but still works (most of the time). Since I can’t rely on my Garmin to hold up and not give out, I have started taking my iPad Pro 9.7 with me as my backup GPS. This holder fits perfectly in my cup holder and allows me to keep my iPad secure and at eye level! I highly recommend this holder to anyone who travels with their tablet! It is much more convenient that suctioning it to the window shield or dashboard. This has been a lifesaver this month and will be a favorite for a long time, especially while traveling!
Instagram Beauty Blogger Sophie Shab aka TrendMood1: It is no secret the world of Beauty is chaotic, but in all of that chaos it is great to see some positivity. Sophie Shab is like the beauty community’s Fairy Godmother! Her Instagram Blog, TrendMood1, keeps everyone up-to-date with upcoming releases and launches. Sophie gives us a first look as soon as she receives the products and is always engaging with her followers! I was able to get the Selena collection, which is one of MAC’s quickest sell out, because of Sophie. Sophie even gives us an exclusive look into some of the Beauty Communities most sought out parties! She is very dedicated to what she does and to her followers. Despite any negativity in the world, you can always find a sense of peace with Sophie and her page, TrendMood1!
