Ipsy is an inexpensive monthly beauty subscription where you get a themed Glam Bag filled with goodies. What I like about Ipsy, is the items in the bag are not the same for everyone. It is purely random and so each month is genuinely a surprise. In each bag, you will receive 5 full-size or deluxe-sized beauty products. The products range from makeup, skincare, hair care, and nail care. After you receive your Glam Bag, you can find stylist-created tutorials to give you advice on how to use your new products. Here is my September Ipsy Bag!
The theme for this month is Glamazon. I am not a huge fan of the bag, but it does fit the concept of this month’s theme. The bag is pretty sturdy and the gold accents in the design and zipper stand out pretty nicely.
And now for what was inside the bag!
ToGoSpa: Eyes by ToGoSpa (Full Size): $12.50 for 1 pack; Each pack comes with 3 treatments. I received Green Tea Eyes, but there are 4 different treatments for the eyes. I found that if I refrigerate each pack I had better results in decreasing puffiness around my eyes. By refrigerating the pack, I also felt more refreshed and awake.
Épicé International Restorative Toner (Deluxe 1 oz.- Full size is 5 oz. for $27): This product says it is optimal for all skin types, but is best used for acne prone skin. Épicé toner is said to help heal dry, agitated, blemished or damaged skin. It is said to also help with uneven pigmentation. I have yet to use this on my face only because of the sensitivity of my skin.
Be A Bombshell Cosmetics: Nail Polish in Va Voom (Full Size $6): There were two choices for the Glam Bag; the other choice was Holy Fuchsia, which was my personal favorite color. Be A Bombshell Nail Polishes are very opaque and usually go on with one coat. Unfortunately for me, the dark colors always either peel or chip very easily. Va Voom unfortunately fell into that category. Luckily though there are a variety of colors and not all peel or chip.
tarte cosmetics: tarteist™ lash paint mascara (Deluxe 3 mL- Full Size 7 mL (0.23 oz.): I was excited to receive this in my bag! I am a huge fan of tarte products and I love the Better Than Sex mascara! I was hoping this mascara would live up to the quality I was used to. When I applied this mascara to my lashes, my lashes were full, dark and longer. Unfortunately it was hit and miss sometimes with applying, at times it was great and even and other time there were clumps and flakes. I prefer waterproof mascara because of my oily lids and watery eyes, unfortunately this didn’t hold up.
BelláPierre Cosmetics: Mineral Blush (Full Size $20): The color I received was Autumn Glow. It is a gorgeous peachy bronze color. I have not used this yet simply because when it comes to loose products in jars, I seem to make a mess everywhere! I’ll have to look up the perfect way to apply this because the color is perfect for a natural flushed look.
I think this month’s Glam Bag was a pretty good one. Like all subscription bags/boxes, there were some hits and misses. For $10 though, you can’t really go wrong if you want to branch out and try new products without burning a hole in your wallet. If you happened to enjoy the products in your bag, Ipsy each company has their own discount code to use on their website! What current makeup subscriptions have you subscribed to? I’ll be reviewing Play! by Sephora as soon as I get it in the mail, so make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it! As always, leave your recommendations in the comment section below!
