Listen closely ghouls & goblins! BarkBox has heard your howls and created a Halloween treat for just you ghastly puppies! Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year and I was excited to see what BarkBox would do to for the spooky occasion. After September’s box, I have high standards for this month’s box and I hope that BarkBox put in the same effort and creativity as September. So let’s take a look inside! As predicted, the theme is Halloween. I will have to say, compared to my previous boxes, this one wasn’t packaged as neatly as the others, but I’m sure our pups aren’t worried about wrapping. So let’s dive in and see what’s inside!I see they went huge with the chews, I was honestly hoping for something different like last month’s box, but I am sure Khaleesi will enjoy them just the same. They definitely stuck with the theme for the toys so that’s a plus!Count Drool Culas Bite (Small $8): This toy is so adorable! It has a soft spiky end on one side, which is great for Khaleesi while she is teething. It also has a squeaker and if you have been following my blog for a bit, you know anything that squeaks, is a hit with my little wolf! It’s a fun new way to play fetch, her favorite thing to do, with Khalessi. Rest in Pieces Tombstone ($12): This toy was interesting to say the least, I would’ve preferred one of the other toys for Khaleesi, but hey that’s the beauty of subscription boxes, you never know what you’ll get. Khaleesi wasn’t a fan of it, surprising because the green area has squeakers in the individual boxes. She squeaked for a bit and then went on to something else. All in all, it is still a unique toy and after some time, I am sure my little wolf will tear right into it!
Ryder’s Bewitching Broomstick ($8-Currently Sold Out): The perfect accessory for any witchy puppy! This was Khaleesi’s favorite out of all of the toys! Surprising it wasn’t because of the squeaker! The broom’s “bristles” were her favorite to tug on. Khaleesi is a notorious tag chewer, so I have to pull tags off of EVERY thing, so I think these bristles are the perfect thing to entertain her for hours! Ghouls Gobblers ($6): I’m not a fan of pumpkin flavor, but Khaleesi gobbled these up quickly. These are the pumpkin spice of dog treats for the Fall season! Since these are considered Halloween treats, I think the treats should’ve been ghost shaped and not duck shaped. Of course, my little wolf couldn’t care less what shaped they are, she enjoys them just the same! These all-natural treats are made with duck and pumpkin and are grain free.
Baked Bites- Beef Recipe ($9-currently unavailable, but they have duck): I think these are probably one of Khaleesi’s favorite treats. She actually whined when she was all done eating the couple I gave her. They are made with all-natural beef, blueberries and cranberries gluten and wheat free. Definitely something I will end up purchasing once they are back in stock. I might try the duck flavor at a later time and see if she likes it. Doggie Delights Sliced Femur ($5), Butcher’s Block Contender ($4), Frank’s Flank – Steak Chew ($4)- Not available for purchase: I’m on the fence with these chews. I’m not sure what kind of meat these are, with the exception of the Steak Chew. They aren’t sold on the site and no information came with them either. Khaleesi isn’t quite the fan of them either, she’ll nibble hear and there but my little wolf gets bored of them quickly and often. I wish they had broken it up with other types of chews. But such is the downside of subscription boxes; you never know what you’ll get
There you have it! I have to admit, this was probably my least favorite BarkBox out of all of them Khaleesi has received. A lot more misses than hits than I would have liked in a subscription box. Khaleesi isn’t dressing up for Halloween, but if she were it would probably be a Good Witch or a Fairy! What is your pet wearing for Halloween if they are dressing up? Have a spooky (but safe) Halloween!
